Me, myself, and I

It can be hard to define yourself without labels.

Hello! My name is Kala and I am the author of Life Between Labels. I am an American currently in Newfoundland, Canada seeking a Master of Environmental Science degree. I have lived and traveled all over North America, and have grand ambitions to travel the world!

I am a Ecologist by profession and have worked with endangered species for the past few years. Wildlife and travel are my passions and with Life Between Labels, I hope to blend these two parts of my life to provide a blog rich in content about where to see wildlife and how to travel on a moderate budget. Because like many of you, I don’t have much time or money to travel in my day-to-day, but I always seek adventure everywhere I go.

Some more about me, I am a bit of a nerd. I love to play table-top games and who doesn’t enjoy a good superhero movie or comic book. I am an amateur photographer and I will say that all photos on the blog have been taken by me (unless tagged separately). I spend some of my free time with local indigenous groups learning about the culture and the importance of history.

When I travel I try to get a taste of the wildlife, the culture, and the adventure in the area. But sometimes my mind says yes but my body says no. As much as I would like to, I will not be the person to take you on the wildest adventures but I’ll defiantly point them out and cheer you on from the sidelines!
